Biography
Armand Aucamp-van Noordwyk is a South African actor, cookbook author, and entrepreneur. Aucamp-van Noordwyk studied at CityVarsity School of Media and Creative Arts in Cape Town, graduating in 2009 Top of Class. He launched his professional acting career shortly afterwards, with a stage debut in 2011 at the Artscape Theatre Centre in the play Mary and the Conqueror. Over the years, Aucamp-van Noordwyk has built a versatile career spanning theatre, television, and film. On screen he’s best known for starring as Tom Niemandt in the Afrikaans drama series Die Boekklub. He played Jacques Rynhard in the 2015 film revival of Ballade vir ’n Enkeling — a major milestone that helped raise his profile. Internationally, Aucamp has appeared in The Book of Negroes, credited as Lieutenant Waters. More recently, he joined the cast of the 2023 live-action version of One Piece — portraying the Marine officer “Bogard”. Beyond acting, Aucamp-van Noordwyk is also passionate about health, food and entrepreneurship. In 2018 he published his first cookbook, Armand Kook Kaal, inspired by a low-carb/banting lifestyle. He followed this up in 2021 with a second book, Armand's Nude Food, which collects 50 banting- and keto-friendly recipes. In 2020, Aucam-van Noordwyk expanded into tech by co-creating an Afrikaans dating app, KOER, aimed at connecting Afrikaans speakers romantically.
