Sibusiso Mamba is an internationally celebrated actor whose career has carried him from the stages of Johannesburg and London to the sets of acclaimed films and television dramas. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Sibusiso has embodied some of theatre’s most demanding and iconic roles — from Othello in Othello, to Brutus in Julius Caesar, to Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest, to the searing role of Sizwe Banzi in Sizwe Banzi is Dead. His performance as Gabriel in August Wilson’s Fences at the Joburg Theatre earned him a Naledi Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2024. Across the UK, US, South Africa, and beyond, he has worked under visionary directors including Noma Dumezweni, Anna Coombs, David Dennis, John Matshikiza, Ricardo Khan, Matthew Xia, Indhu Rubasingham and Jo Bonney. His stage credits span Shakespeare, Athol Fugard, Suzanne Lori-Parks and contemporary international works, showcasing both his versatility and his deep commitment to storytelling. On screen, Sibusiso has appeared in productions such as Richard E. Grant’s Wah-Wah, the BBC’s Doctors, and the South African television staples Isidingo, Soul City, and the SABC1 series Dichipi. He has also lent his voice to BBC Radio dramas, most recently reprising his acclaimed role as Sizwe Banzi for radio audiences.
