Kirsty’s love of the creative arts was nurtured from a young age and included music, dance, visual art, pottery and in particular the Dramatic Arts. She excelled in Drama as a Matric subject. After completing school, Kirsty pursued visual art by attending art classes full time, but ultimately chose to attend UCT where she gained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Social Sciences. After graduating, Kirsty worked in advertising agencies and in the production side of the Film Industry. It was while working on various film productions that Kirsty’s love for acting was re-ignited and she returned to her acting roots, pursuing a career in front of the lens. Kirsty gained experience acting in Director’s Show Reels and re-discovered her love of Improvisation through a one year Adult Training Workshop with UCT teacher, culminating in the making of a short film in which she played a lead character. Kirsty was an actively involved founding member of The Actor’s Studio, Cape Town. A space where actors and directors met to work on and hone their acting and directing skills collaboratively. The Group worked on many interactive film-making projects and it was through this process that Kirsty workshopped and acted in various short films. While continuing to add to her work experience Kirsty landed both Featured and Lead roles in Film and Television. With 25 years experience acting in the Film Industry, Kirsty has vast on camera experience, with a large portion of her work being made up of lead roles in Television Commercials. A true artist at heart, Kirsty is fascinated by the human condition and is inspired by the connected essence we all share.
